Celebrities are often worshiped as heros. We can admire celebtities for what they do and achieve but do they really have the qualities of a hero? What is the difference between a hero and celebrity?
Celebrity is someone who entertains…a hero is someone who made a diffrence in their life…..a hero is a hero in the persons eyes, no matter what other title people give them

heroes save lives…celebrities save boredom.

A celebrity is someone who is famous, but they can be famous for any number of reasons and those reasons are often insignificant, unintentional, or even negative. A hero can be many things but in general it is someone who contributes positively to other people and they are NOT necessarily famous or even well known at all.

I love Ugmo’s answer…right on the money.
Celebrities, while they can be worshipped as a hero, are often just the fodder for gossip magazines…think Paris Hilton! (hero? – not!)
Heros, while they are celebrities, are celebrated for some achievement they have accomplished or something they have done to better the world – i.e. – Christopher Reeve (spinal cord research)
